Town Board meeting tonight

At their meeting tonight, the Cornelius Town Board will consider adopting a 30 day grace period for new residents to register their home alarms with the Cornelius Police. There is currently no specified grace period written into the town’s False Alarm Reduction Program.

In addition, the town board is expected to annex a 63-acre parcel on Bailey Road which will be used for the construction of new homes. The annexation request is from Bluestream Properties LLC.

Finally, the town board is expected to approve a $161,125 contract with Carolina Courtworks of Charlotte for the Bailey Road Park court renovation project.  The project includes renovation of the existing three tennis and two basketball courts. This project is funded through the voter-approved 2013 Park Bond Referendum.

The town board meeting begins at 7 pm, in the commissioners meeting room at Town Hall on Catawba Avenue.
