Revisions on open space and buffer zones on Town Board Monday meeting agenda

“In the past, many residents have been told a proposed development would have an opaque buffer, but upon completion, the actual buffer was far from opaque,” said Planning Director Wayne Herron. “Current town regulations propose buffers with plantings that will grow into an opaque buffer upon maturity. However our Land Development Code Advisory Board felt this was misleading and it would be more appropriate to actually have options that allowed for a real opaque buffer. This revision should address those concerns.”
The changes have previously received unanimous approval from the town Planning Board.
Also at Monday’s meeting, the commissioners will consider approving an agreement with Huntersville and Davidson to form a North Mecklenburg Alliance, designed to study, investigate and advocate transportation improvements in the Lake Norman area. The alliance would essentially replace the three town’s previous participation in the Lake Norman Regional Transportation Board.
The meeting begins at 7 pm in the Board Meeting Room at Town Hall on Catawba Avenue.
