Marie Katherine Sorrey Flaherty, 97, of Charlotte, N.C., died February 16, 2017, at Olde Knox Commons in Huntersville.  Marie was born December 18, 1919 in Hattisburg, MS to the late Roddie and Carrie Hoard Sorrey.  Marie was a self-employed dog groomer.  She loved spending time with her family and she loved gardening.  Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marcus Flaherty.  Marie is survived by her daughter, Linda McDonald and her husband Richard; granddaughters, Victoria Kuck and Brenda Mattingly; and three great-grandchildren.  Services will be held at the convenience of the family.  Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home is assisting the family.  Friends may offer condolences to the family at www.raymerfh.com.
