It looks like town will oppose CMS bond

At their meeting on Oct. 2, Cornelius commissioners will consider a resolution opposing the $922 million bond package from Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools which will be on the ballot in November. The commissioners tabled a similar resolution at their last meeting Sept. 18 because some were not happy with the precise wording. Opponents of the bond package, including a majority of the Huntersville Town Board, do not believe the proposed bond issue includes enough school projects in the northern part of the county. Also at Monday’s meeting, the town and arts center staff are expected to present the selected architecture firm that will design the arts center facility. The meeting begins at 7 pm in Town Hall on Catawba Avenue.
