June 28. The Valspar Foundation has awarded a $2,000 scholarship to Cornelius resident Jordan Lindekens who is studying nursing at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. The scholarship recognizes scholastic and community achievement by the children of Valspar employees. Jordan is the daughter of Valspar employee John Lindekens who works in the company’s High Point facility. The awards are based on academic performance, demonstrated leadership, participation in school and community activities, work experience, career and educational goals and objectives, and an outside appraisal.
