This play by Matt Lyle pairs the end of the world with a suburban summer barbecue. May 10-25 at The Warehouse Performing Arts Center in Cornelius.
“By Land…By Sea!” is a nature-inspired exhibit by Amy Hart and guest potters. Open through June 8 at the Cornelius Arts Center.
Beyond Walls is Cornelius’s annual, award-winning exhibition. Open through January 31, 2019 at Robbins Park in Cornelius.
A small business expert with Mecklenburg County will offer information on almost every aspect of running or starting up a small business. 5:30-7 p.m. at the Cornelius Branch Library.

Enjoy food from Maryland Crab Company, The Herban Legend and other local food trucks plus live music by Rusty Knox. 5-10 p.m. at the Beaver Dam in Davidson.
Saturday, May 26
5K Run/Walk
Camo Up for Vets run/walk will start at 8 a.m. at Richard’s Coffee Shop and Veterans’ Museum in Mooresville.
Leisurely guided bike ride to explore native, historic and unusual trees in downtown Davidson, along the greenway and in nearby neighborhoods. 10 a.m.-noon at the Davidson Town Green.
Raptor Flight Show
Learn about the natural history, habitat and behavior of raptors as owls, hawks, vultures and falcons demonstrate their flying abilities. 11 a.m. at the Carolina Raptor Center in Huntersville.
Join us for a weekend of fun including a bounce house and cotton candy! May 26-28 at Morningstar Marinas at Kings Point in Cornelius.
Performances by local artists Coddle Creek and LayLo, food trucks, street vendors and craft beer. 5-10 p.m. at D9 Brewing Company in Cornelius.
Sunday, May 27

Purchase a flag in honor or memory of a veteran. Flags will be on display at Lowe’s YMCA in Mooresville through May 28. Proceeds go to child abuse prevention.
Blood Drive
Free ticket vouchers for donors. 3-6:30 p.m. at the Regal Theaters Birkdale 16 in Huntersville.

Bring your family to this annual event hosted by American Legion Post 86. 10 a.m. at the Cornelius Veterans Monument at Rotary Plaza.
Ribbon cutting, flag folding presentation, entertainment by the Community Singers of Lake Norman. 10:30 a.m. at Veterans Park in Huntersville.

Mingling on the Greens
Live music every Friday and Saturday night throughout the summer. Acoustic Measures with Bob Trice will perform 7-9 p.m. at Birkdale Village in Huntersville.
Bring lawn chairs and enjoy a free screening of Disney’s “The Lion King.” Arrive at 7 p.m. for free popcorn and drinks. Film starts at dusk at Blythe Elementary School in Huntersville.

The Light House Spiritual Center will host the release of “Mantra: Sounds Into Silence.” Tickets must be reserved in advance. 7:30 p.m. at Birkdale Regal Cinemas in Huntersville.

Proceeds go to Serenity House. Donations accepted until May 298 a.m.-3 p.m.at Serenity House in Mooresville.
Participants earn their Warrior helmet by tackling a fierce 3-4 mile course and 12 extreme obstacles, then enjoying a post-race party. Proceeds go to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. 8:30 a.m. at Historic Rural Hill in Huntersville.
Tinkerfest
Create and explore how things move and work at our first-ever Tinkerfest, a daylong celebration of tinkering for girls in grades K-5 and their families. 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Discovery Place KIDS in Huntersville.
“Chancellorsville: The Prelude to Gettysburg.” Live demonstrations, self-guided tour of the living history farm, vendors. June 2-3 at Historic Latta Plantation in Huntersville.
Choose between the Eagle Encounter and Meet the Stars Encounter for a variety of “nose-to-beak” experiences with raptors. 1 p.m. at the Carolina Raptor Center in Huntersville.

County Roscommon, Ireland native Jim Sharkey will perform Irish folk and Americana music. 9:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. June 2 and 16 at The Galway Hooker Pub in Cornelius.
Bring lawn chairs and blankets to a free screening of “Despicable Me 3” on an inflatable blimp screen. Children’s activities start at 7 p.m.; movie starts at dusk at Smithville Park in Cornelius.

Blood Drives
8 a.m.-1 p.m. at St. Mark Catholic Church in Huntersville and 8:45 a.m.-1 p.m. at Temple Kol Tikvah in Davidson.
Monthly programs for children will offer hands-on activities to explore environmental education. The June topic is “Homey Habitats.” Pre-registration required. 1:30-3 p.m. at Stumpy Creek Park in Mooresville.
Gaga Ball Tournament
The Jewish Council of Lake Norman invites families for a gaga ball tournament for kids and field games for all ages. Light lunch served. Free; donations appreciated. Noon at Temple Kol Tikvah in Davidson.
Award-winning chefs will prepare an amazing family-style meal featuring delicious locally-grown products from market vendors, wine pairings, cocktail hour and a silent auction to benefit the Davidson Farmers Market. 5-9 p.m. at the Davidson Village Green.
