Police officer shot responding to domestic dispute   

The scene on Coachman’s Trace at 12:30 pm today

May 2. A Cornelius Police officer was apparently shot while responding to a domestic call. Medic transported the officer to CMC Main for treatment. Police said a suspect is in custody. There were no further details from the police department at 1 pm.

A neighbor said shots were first heard around noon. Police from Huntersville, Davidson are on site as well. The house, on a street just off Washam Potts, is roped off. It occurred on Coachman’s Trace in a well-tended neighborhood. A police spokesperson, did not release the condition of the officer.
