BBQ and Bluegrass

Cornelius Presbyterian Church is gearing up for September.  For two consecutive weekends, they will host Not Strictly Bluegrass – BBQ, Bluegrass and Beyond! 

The community outreach project will be held on Sept. 15 and 22.  Free music on the church lawn begins at 10:30 a.m. and BBQ will be served beginning at 11:30 a.m.  Church member Andy White will bring his hand-built smoker and will be preparing the BBQ.  Plates will sell for $8 (adult) and $5 (child).  Lawn chairs are encouraged, but some folding chairs will be provided.  Those eating BBQ can dine inside the fellowship hall or out on the lawn.    

Performers on Sept. 15 are The Barefoot Movement and Owen Poteat, known as the “One Man Boogie Band.”  Performers on Sept. 22 are Michael Reno Harrell and The Rusty Knox Band. 

Cornelius Presbyterian says the primary purpose for the event is to bring everyone together for great food and music, and to introduce people to Cornelius Presbyterian Church.  Secondarily, proceeds are applied to local charitable endeavors.
