Flash flood warning; Westmoreland reopened

Tree down on Cornelius Street

Sept. 27. [Updated 11 am] Westmoreland has been reopened by CPD after closure earlier this morning. Belle Isle completely blocked by a downed tree just past Mollypop as of 10:30 am. Cornelius Town Hall expected to open at 11:30 am. More:

Westmoreland blocked

+Duke Energy is reporting 350+ homes without power between Torrence Chapel and Walter Henderson.

+Damaging winds this morning; flash flood warning till 2 pm.

+Westmoreland, which was closed at I-77, has reopened.

+Henderson Road closed at Watermark.

+Tree blocking Cornelius Street near North Main.

+Cleared: Jetton Road partially blocked by a tree.

+Jetton Park closed.

+Blue Ridge Parkway closed.

+Lake Norman water level at 98.1; target is 97.5.

+Lake Lure mandatory evacuation under way.
