CMS Superintendent Heath Morrison will resign Thursday

Citing personal reasons, Heath E. Morrison will resign as superintendent of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools on Thursday, Nov. 6

“I am exceptionally grateful to the Board of Education for giving me this opportunity and thank them for their leadership and support during my time as superintendent,” said Heath Morrison, superintendent of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.

Deputy Superintendent Ann Clark will assume the responsibilities of superintendent as part of her duties as second in command. The Board will seek a replacement for the superintendent but has not made any plans to begin a search at this time.Morrison joined Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools as superintendent in July 2012.
