Charlotte Symphony comes to McGuire Nuclear Station Friday

Charlotte Symphony on the lawn at the Energy Explorium

June 25. McGuire Nuclear Station will host the Charlotte Symphony on the lawn of the EnergyExplorium Friday evening, an annual lakeside event that draws thousands of people.

It’s the only nuclear plant in the U.S. to hold an event of this magnitude and it’s free.

“Celebrate America” starts at 8:30 pm on June 28, but it’s best to arrive early because of the crowds. Spread your blanket, relax and enjoy a variety of patriotic, classical and pop selections. There will also be food trucks on site.

Address: 13339 McGuire Nuclear Station Road, Huntersville, off Hwy. 73.

Tips:

—Free admission and parking, but come early for a good spot.

—Pack a picnic and bring chairs or a blanket. No pets.

—Boaters may anchor in the EnergyExplorium’s cove at the southern tip of Lake Norman
