Chabad of Lake Norman announces High Holiday services, observances

Sept. 10. A year after the Hamas terror attacks in Israel, Lake Norman’s Jews are planning to gather for the High Holidays of Rosh Hashanah – the Jewish New Year – and Yom Kippur – the Day of Atonement. Chabad of Lake Norman is hosting High Holiday services that will feature inspiring sermons, singing, holiday foods and the sound of the shofar.

“Over the past year, Jews around the country have responded to rising antisemitism by embracing their faith and their heritage,” said Rabbi Chaim Greenberg, director of Chabad of Lake Norman.

Chabad of Lake Norman will host Rosh Hashanah services and events from Wednesday, Oct. 2 through Friday, Oct. 4. These include a traditional Rosh Hashanah Dinner, communal services, children’s programs at the Chabad Center and a public “Shofar in the Park” gathering at Walter Henderson Park on Oct. 3. Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of Atonement, will be observed at the Chabad center on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 11 – 12.
